Pakistan and England engaged in a thriller in Karachi on Sunday (September 25) as the hosts won the 4th T20I by three runs to level the seven-match series 2-2.

England won the toss and chose to bowl first as Pakistan posted a score of 166/4 on the board with wicketkeeper-batter Mohammad Rizwan playing a fine innings of 88 in 67 balls. Babar Azam (36), Shan Masood (21) and Asif Ali (13* in 3 balls) contributed usefully though the final score seemed to be below par at the innings break.

The visitors' chase was dented by Pakistan with the first three wickets falling for 14 runs. Ben Duckett (33) and Harry Brook (34) stabilised the innings but lost their wickets at the wrong time as England slumped to 130/7 in the 17th over.

Liam Dawson (34) turned the game towards England by taking 24 off Mohammad Hasnain in the 18th over. England needed just 9 runs in the last two overs when Haris Rauf bowled like fire in the penultimate over. England needed 5 in 10 balls and Rauf dismissed Dawson and Olly Stone off consecutive deliveries. The speedster clocked at 155 mph as the momentum switched in minutes.

Last man Reece Topley somehow survived Rauf's rockets and took a leg-bye but Adil Rashid failed to take the strike in the final over. Topley was run-out off the second delivery bowled by Mohammad Wasim trying to complete an impossible run as Shan Masood affected a direct-hit leaving him well short of the crease.

The remaining three matches will be played in Lahore from September 28 to October 2.
