GPCL teams to wear unique jerseys based on their team name and country colour

The inaugural season of GPCL will be played in Delhi from October 2 to October 9.

The jersey of GPCL team Indian SapphiresThe inaugural edition of the Global Power Cricket League (GPCL) is all set to get underway in Delhi on October 2. The tournament will run till October 9, comprising eight teams from different countries.

The featuring teams include Indian Sapphires, Australian Golds, English Reds, American Indigos, Irish Olives, Scottish Mulberries, South African Emeralds, and Sri Lankan Violets.

Each team has some marquee international cricketers in its ranks. While the Indian Sapphires have roped in Munaf Patel, Yusuf Pathan and Gulbadin Naib, Australian Golds have bought Callum Ferguson.

English Reds have signed the legendary Ian Bell as captain whereas Narsingh Deonarine, Dilshan Munaweera and Kirk Edwards are the other notable names in the players’ roster.

Besides, the jersey of each team is another talking point about GPCL. The kits have been designed by Power Sportz team in a unique way, based on the colour of the respective teams and their countries.

For instance, the players of the Indian Sapphires squad will sport a jersey, having a combination of blue and orange shades while the team from Australia will don the golden-yellow colour.

On the other hand, the English Reds team will wear the red-blue jersey and American Indigos will put on indigo-green colour. Similarly, the players turning up for Irish Olives will sport olive shade and Scottish Mulberries, South African Emeralds, and Sri Lankan Violets will have the same kit colour as mentioned in the team name.

In each team’s jersey, the logo is placed on the top left side of the shirt while the name of the team is written in the middle of the shirt.

Talking about the GPCL, the objective of the organizers is to take cricket global so that the Asian Diaspora population residing outside of their nation can watch the game live in their country of stay.

While the first season of GPCL is being held in India under the NRI festival, it will take place in Middle East, USA, Canada, UK, and South Africa in the coming years.
