Virat Kohli has time and again proved his greatness as a player by owning some or the other record in every match. He has been the face of Indian cricket even before Dhoni retired and reached the pinnacle of his career going on to become the most successful Test skipper India has had.

At 33, Virat Kohli has three-four more years of cricket left in him before his career comes to a close and it remains to be seen how he leaves the arena.

The past two years have not been that great of a time for Kohli evident from his struggle to score centuries but his comeback in Asia Cup 2022 after a month-long break was fantastic and his scoring a maiden T20I century against Afghanistan showed that he still had the hunger for runs.

Speaking on when Virat Kohli should call time on his career, former Pakistan captain Shahid Afridi lauded the former India skipper’s stellar career and expects that Kohli would go out on his high rather than being a pale shadow of himself.

The way Virat had played, the start that he had to his career, there was a struggle initially when he made a name for himself. He is a champion and I believe that there comes a stage when you are headed towards retirement. But in that scenario, the aim should be to go out on a high,Afridi told Samaa TV.

"It shouldn't reach a stage where you are dropped from the team and instead when you are at your peak. It seldom happens though. Very few players, especially cricketers from Asia make that decision, but I feel when Virat does it, he will do it in style and probably in the same manner in which he started his career," the former all-rounder added.

Virat Kohli will be seen in action against Australia when the three- T20I series start from September 20 onwards.
