Suresh Raina set to play for India Legends in the second edition of Road Safety World Series

The Road Safety World Series 2022 is slated to get underway on September 10.

Suresh Raina | GettyFormer India batter Suresh Raina will feature for the India Legends in the upcoming Road Safety World Series (RSWS) 2022. He had recently announced his retirement from all forms of cricket, including the IPL.

Following Raina's decision to end his career in all forms of cricket on Tuesday (September 06), rumors about him playing in leagues throughout the world began to spread.

The official RSWS handle took to Twitter to announce the 35-year-old's availability for the series.

“Hold on your nerves, we have something more for you! @ImRaina, who is also the first Indian to score a hundred in all three formats, is all set to join India Legends for the second season of the Road Safety World Series”, read the tweet.

Sachin Tendulkar, Yuvraj Singh, Irfan Pathan, Yusuf Pathan, Harbhajan Singh, and many other Indian cricketing greats will also be competing this season.

The tournament which is set to get underway on September 10 in Kanpur where India Legends take on South African legends will be played in 4 cities: Kanpur, Indore, Dehradun, and Raipur.

The competing teams include India, New Zealand, Australia, Sri Lanka, the West Indies, South Africa, Bangladesh, and England. 

The Ministry of Road Transport and Highways, the Ministry of Information and Technology, and the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports of the Government of India jointly support the RSWS.

The defending champions India Legends will be led by the legendary batter Sachin Tendulkar and will also feature the flamboyant southpaw Yuvraj Singh and the sensational all-rounder Irfan Pathan.

The squad also includes Yusuf Pathan, Harbhajan Singh, Munaf Patel, Stuart Binny, S Badrinath, Naman Ojha as a wicketkeeper, Manpreet Gony, Pragyan Ojha, Vinay Kumar, Abhimanyu Mithun, Rajesh Pawar, and Rahul Sharma.
