Shardul Thakur has been brought in to fill in for Prasidh Krishna in the India 'A' squad for the ongoing unofficial Test series against New Zealand 'A' at M. Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bangalore.
According to a recent Cricbuzz report, Krishna had to pull out of the series due to a back injury. Thakur, who had previously been named in the West Zone squad for the Duleep Trophy, had to be removed from the team due to his selection in the India 'A' squad.
As per the report, Chetan Sakariya has been selected to take the Mumbai cricketer’s place in the zonal team.
The selectors sent an SOS call to Shardul Thakur who was holidaying in Thailand and asked him to return immediately.
On Sunday (September 04), the opening match between India A and New Zealand A ended in a draw.
The series will continue with two more matches, beginning on September 8 and 15 at Hubli and Bengaluru, respectively.
Thakur will shortly join the Priyank Panchal-led team in Karnataka.
