India maintains 3rd spot after Zimbabwe series win; Pakistan moves to 4th in latest ICC ODI team rankings

New Zealand continues to reign at the no.1 spot.

New Zealand continues to hold the no.1 spot | GettyIndian team remains static at the third spot in the recent update of the ICC ODI team rankings thanks to their white-wash of the Zimbabwe team in their own backyard. India won the third and final ODI on August 22 by 13 runs to clean sweep the series.

India now has 111 rating points on the back of the 3-0 series win in Harare.

On the other hand, the Pakistan team moved to the fourth spot in the rankings and to 107 rating points thanks to their 3-0 series win over the Netherlands in a hard-fought series in the ongoing Cricket World Cup Super League.

New Zealand continues to reign supreme at the top of the table with 124 rating points following their narrow 2-1 series triumph over the West Indies, while England remains second with 119 rating points.

The Black Caps will have the opportunity to increase their lead when they take on rivals Australia in a three-match ODI series next month. However, a loss in the series to Australia will have them relinquish the top spot to England.

India will have a chance to narrow that gap further when they host South Africa for three ODIs, while Pakistan doesn’t play ODI cricket until after the T20 World Cup 2022.

Australia (101 ranking points), on the other hand, can overtake Pakistan if they fare well in the back-to-back home series against Zimbabwe and New Zealand.
