NED v PAK 2022: Pakistan management under pressure to play full strength team- Mohammad Hafeez after close win in 1st ODI

Pakistan won the first ODI against the Netherlands by 16 runs.

Pakistan won the first ODI against the Netherlands by 16 runs | PCBFormer Pakistani all-rounder Mohammad Hafeez has taken a sly jibe at the Pakistani team management after they were given a huge scare by the Netherlands team in the first ODI match of the three-match series.

Pakistan had batted first in the first match at Rotterdam and posted 314/6 in 50 overs with Fakhar Zaman scoring 109, captain Babar Azam contributing 74, and Shadab Khan hammering 48* in 28 balls.

While this total was good enough for Pakistan to win the match, the Netherlands team gave the Men in Green a run for their money, as they accumulated 298/8 in 50 overs, losing the encounter by only 16 runs.

Vikramjit Singh, Tom Cooper, and captain Scott Edwards scored half-centuries but three wickets each by Naseem Shah and Haris Rauf were enough for Pakistan to register a close win.

This win came with lots of criticism by experts and fans and Mohammad Hafeez also joined the bandwagon sharing his thoughts on the match.

However, Pakistan team management has gone in with the same team for the second ODI which got underway on August 18. The Netherlands won the toss and chose to bat first.

Hafeez then took to Twitter to credit the Netherlands team for playing the first ODI with full aggression, which has put pressure on Pakistani team management to possibly play with the full squad for the second ODI as well, calling it an interesting development.

Full available squad of @TheRealPCB vs @KNCBcricket rank no 14 in ODI. Full credit to @KNCBcricket to play competitive & aggressive cricket in 1st ODI match to put pressure on team management to go with full squad again in 2nd ODI. Interesting,” Hafeez tweeted.
