From common people to well-known celebrities, the Indians are showing patriotism in their unique way. While many of them are hoisting the national flag at houses and playing patriotic songs in localities, there is a lot showing their love for the country by changing the display picture on social media to tricolor.

Former India skipper MS Dhoni is also among the people who have changed their DP on social media.

On Saturday (August 13), Dhoni put the Indian flag as his display picture on Instagram. The picture reads: “I am blessed to be a Bharatiya” in English, Hindi and Sanskrit.

Dhoni’s achievement as a cricketer is surreal, to say the least. He represented India in 90 Tests, 350 ODIs and 98 T20Is, aggregating over 17,000 runs and affecting more than 800 dismissals with the gloves in his international career.

In particular, Dhoni etched his name in the history books as one of India’s finest leaders. He is the only skipper in the history of cricket to have won all three ICC trophies – 2007 World T20, 2011 Cricket World Cup and 2013 Champions Trophy. He also led India to the pinnacle in Test cricket.

Apart from serving Indian cricket brilliantly, Dhoni has also had spells with the Indian army on several occasions. In fact, he holds the honorary rank of Lieutenant Colonel in the Indian Territorial Army and is a qualified paratrooper as well.

After the 2019 World Cup, the 41-year-old had a brief stint with the Territorial Army unit of the Parachute Regiment (106 Para TA battalion) in the Kashmir valley.
