David Warner and his wife hail PV Sindhu for winning CWG Gold, Indian shuttler thanks the couple

PV Sindhu | GettyHaving won a Silver medal in the CWG games in Gold Coast in 2018 and a Bronze in the 2014 CWG games in Glasgow, Indian shuttler PV Sindhu on Monday (August 8) completed the set of all medals after clinching the Gold in the 2022 Birmingham games.

Sindhu claimed Gold after she defeated Canada’s Michelle Li 21-15, 21-13 in front of a packed crowd at the NEC arena.

For her spectacular performance, PV Sindhu earned praises from across the globe after winning her maiden individual Commonwealth Games gold in badminton women's singles.

Among those amazed by Sindhu's skills on the badminton court was veteran Australia batter David Warner.

Taking to Instagram, the southpaw hailed the Indian shuttler as he shared her picture wearing the gold medal and wrote: "Well done @pvsindhu1 amazing achievement, complete."

Warner's wife Candice reacted to the post, stating: "so good."

Overwhelmed by the plaudits, PV Sindhu thanked Warner and his wife on the micro-blogging site Twitter.

After winning the Gold medal, an elated Sindhu said: "I've been waiting for this (gold) for a long time now. Of course, I'm super happy. I've finally done it. From day one it was important to keep my tempo high and be confident that I can do it."

"We've waited four years now and we're finally here. The Commonwealth Games was really good for me, it was a good tournament," she added.
