Ravindra Jadeja deletes response on CSK’s tweet, sparks rumours of leaving the franchise

Jadeja led CSK in eight matches in the IPL 2022 season before stepping down from the role.

Ravindra Jadeja | CSK/TwitterRavindra Jadeja was appointed Chennai Super Kings’ (CSK) captain for the IPL 2022 as the legendary MS Dhoni stepped down from the position two days ahead of the season.

However, the all-rounder failed to make a mark as a leader. Under him, CSK won just two out of the first eight games and as a result, he decided to relinquish the post, handing over the job back to Dhoni.

Days after he quit the captaincy, Jadeja was also ruled out of the competition with a rib injury but there were rumours that the all-rounder was dropped from the team.

Last month, Jadeja deleted all posts related to CSK’s 2021 and 2022 campaigns from his official Instagram account, triggering concerns over his future with the franchise.

As if the speculations were not enough, Jadeja deleted a tweet earlier this week, which led to fans believing that he is definitely leaving Chennai Super Kings.

The tweet was from February 4, 2022 and it was in reply to a post by the franchise. While CSK’s post said “10 years of Super Jaddu”, Jadeja’s reply read “10 more to go.”

Ravindra Jadeja made a successful return from injury last month, slamming a century in India’s first innings during the rescheduled fifth Test against England at Edgbaston. He is part of the national team in the ongoing tour of West Indies.
