Former Team India head coach Ravi Shastri was happy with the way the all-rounders Ravindra Jadeja and Akshar Patel have been performing for India in recent times across the formats.
Shastri has already closely worked with both Jadeja and Patel during his stint with the Indian team and feels the experienced all-rounders have improved vastly over the years.
The commentator also believes that if Jadeja and Patel continue to perform the way they are doing, then it would provide a perfect balance for the Indian team.
Ravi Shastri said while commentating for FanCode during the first T20I between India and West Indies on Friday: “Jadeja has improved vastly. He has realized his potential.”
He signed off by saying, “I think, on this tour, even Axar Patel has realized that he wasn't doing justice to his potential as a batsman. Both of these players have a lot of talent when it comes to the batting department. They will add a lot of balance to the Indian team if they continue in this fashion.”
Notably, Patel has lately played some crucial knocks in white-ball cricket while Jadeja’s batting has improved a lot over the years, and their spin bowling is already top-notch, which makes them crucial members of the team in all three formats of the game.
