Indian head coach Rahul Dravid recalled a hilarious incident from his school days when he scored his first ton.
Dravid is regarded as one of the finest batters to have played the game of cricket. Known as ‘The Wall’, the current Indian head coach was India’s most dependable batter in Test cricket both at home as well as in overseas conditions.

In 164 Tests, he scored 13288 runs at an average of 52.31 and also amassed 10899 runs in 344 ODIs. The former Indian skipper also featured in one T20I and scored 31 runs in it.
Speaking on the podcast 'In the Zone', Rahul Dravid recalled how his name was misprinted as David in the newspaper after he scored his first century during his school days.
“The editor obviously thought that there was a spelling mistake and there could be no one as Dravid. So, it had to be David, right? Because it’s a lot more common name.
“So, I think it was a good lesson for me as well to realize that while I might be really happy and excited about scoring a 100 in school cricket but I am still not well known. And people don’t even know my name. They can’t even trust my name to be right and have to change it,” Dravid said.
Dravid is currently with the Indian team for the white-ball tour of the West Indies. Under his coaching, the visitors have so far won two ODIs.
