Former IPL chairman Lalit Modi on Thursday (July 14) took the internet by storm, announcing that he is dating Bollywood diva Sushmita Sen.

Taking to Twitter, Modi uploaded a series of pictures with Sushmita, calling the actress his ‘better half’ and describing it as a ‘new beginning’.

The 56-year-old also clarified that the two are 'just dating' and haven’t tied the knot.

"Just back in london after a whirling global tour #maldives # sardinia with the families - not to mention my #betterhalf @sushmitasen47 - a new beginning a new life finally. Over the moon," he tweeted. "Just for clarity. Not married - just dating each other. That too it will happen one day."

Lalit Modi's revelation sent social media into a frenzy as memes soon flooded the internet. One of his old tweets where he tagged Sushmita also went viral. The exchange was from 2013 and it confirms that they have known each for a long time.

Lalit Modi was a key figure in running the IPL from 2008 to 2010. He fled from India to seek asylum in the United Kingdom in 2010 amid investigations into tax evasion and money laundering.
