India and Pakistan are likely to clash on 28th August 2022 in Asia Cup as per the reports, which also suggested that the arch-rivals have been drawn in the same group.

It is learned that the Sri Lankan Cricket (SLC) has gotten the green signal from the BCCI and Asia Cup 2022 will begin on 27th August in the island country with a summit clash set to take place on 11th September. The qualifiers for the tournament will start on August 21.

India and Pakistan last faced each other in the T20 World Cup 2021, where Men in blue suffered a 10-wicket hammering at the hands of their arch-rivals.

The tournament mostly is popular because India and Pakistan clash with each other. Since the two nations don’t lock horns with each other due to political tensions, they play only in multi-nation tournaments.

Coming to the head-to-head ties in Asia Cup, India has the upper hand as they have a lead of 8-5 against their arch-rivals in 15 matches.

Asia cup was originally slated to be played in 2020 but the Covid-19 pandemic forced the governing body to postpone the tournament. India is currently the defending champions, having beaten Bangladesh in 2018.
