Indian batter KL Rahul on Wednesday (29th June) gave an official update about his injury status. The right-hander confirmed that he underwent surgery and his road to recovery has begun.

Rahul suffered a groin injury ahead of the T20I series against South Africa which ruled him out of all the games. He was supposed to lead India in that series but the injury forced him to sit out and hand leadership role to Rishabh Pant.

Things got even worse for Rahul when he was ruled out of the rescheduled Test against England, which is slated to take place on 1st July. BCCI confirmed that the batter would travel to Germany and will undergo groin surgery. He is also going to miss the white-ball leg of the tour after the fifth Test.
