In order to treat his injury, Rahul recently travelled to Germany. He was snapped at the airport leaving for Germany along with his girlfriend Athiya Shetty a couple of days back.

On Tuesday (June 28), Rahul informed that he has successfully undergone the surgery. Taking to Instagram, his IPL franchise Lucknow Super Giants shared a post with the caption: “Appreciation post for the one and only, @klrahul Hope you’re recovering fast, kaptaan sahaab!”

In reply, Rahul wrote: “Yes, just finished surgery.”

Notably, KL Rahul was supposed to lead the Indian cricket team in the five-T20I series against South Africa. However, he picked up the injury on the eve of the first game, which led to selectors handing the captaincy duties to Rishabh Pant.

Rahul was also picked in India’s Test squad for the rescheduled fifth Test against England at Edgbaston, slated to begin on July 1 but the same injury ruled him out and his replacement hasn’t been named by the selectors.
