The qualifiers for the ICC Cricket World Cup 2023 are taking place in Uganda. Teams ranked between 21st and 32nd in the ICC rankings are playing Cricket World Cup Challenge League group stage.

In the match between Uganda and Kenya on Sunday (26th June), the 41-year-old Frank Nsubuga stole the limelight and took his teammates, opponents, and commentators by surprise with his athleticism.

It was during the 18th over of Kenya's innings when batter Irfan Karim decided to clear the fence. He charged down the wicket, chipped the ball over the man at square leg and it seemed that the ball would land safely.

But Uganda’s Nsubuga, who was fielding at square leg, ran back and kept an eye on the ball before he dived at the end to pull off the stunner and celebrated animatedly. He earned rich praises for his efforts, considering his age.

ICC shared the video on their official Twitter handle and lauded Nsubuga for his heroics with the caption: “One of the finest catches you will ever see. Uganda's Frank Nsubuga over the weekend.”
