The Mankading issue has yet again come into the light during the opening match of the ongoing Tamil Nadu Premier League (TNPL 2022) on Thursday (June 23).

Well, the match was quite thrilling as both teams-Chepauk Super Gillies and Nellai Royal Kings-scored 184 runs and it went to super over.

Eventually, Nellai Royal Kings went on clinch the first match of the TNPL 2022 by chasing a 10-run target with one delivery in hand against Chepauk Super Gillies on Thursday in Tirunelveli.

Apart from this thrilling match, there was also an incident that made the headlines, and it was senior batter Narayan Jagadeesan's anger after being mankaded by Baba Aparajith in the match.

Actually, chasing 185 for victory, Chepauk Super Gillies had a dramatic start, as they lost their opener Jagadeesan for 25 in the fourth over.

In the third ball of the fourth over, Jagadeesan was seen slightly off his crease before the Aparajith delivered the ball, and the bowler took no time to whip the bails off.

N Jagadeesan was not happy with how he was dismissed and gestured using his middle finger towards the opposition team and continued with the gesture even after removing his gloves.

However, under new laws, the bowler has the right to run the batter out if the batter leaves the crease early. Now, he has issued an apology for his "inexcusable" behavior.

Jagadeesan tweeted: “Passion is always key in any sport - but controlling it and channelizing it the right way is more important. And that is something I failed at doing when I let my temper get the better of me. No excuses for what has been done, I will do better and be better. With Regret, Jagadeesan.”
