Dinesh Karthik makes giant strides in ICC T20I batting rankings; Ishan Kishan enters top 10

Batting in the lower order, the right-hander amassed 92 runs in four innings at an average of 46 and a strike rate of 158.62, including one half-century.

Thanks to his exploits with the bat, Karthik has leapfrogged a massive 108 spots to 87th position in the latest ICC T20 rankings for batters.

Young opener Ishan Kishan has also moved up in the batting chart. The southpaw finished the series with two half-centuries against South Africa and was the leading run-scorer with 206 runs at an average of 41. As a result, he gained one place to sixth in the rankings.

Pakistan skipper Babar Azam continues to occupy the top spot in the T20I batting rankings, while Kishan is the only Indian to feature in the top 10.

Yuzvendra Chahal was the biggest gainer in the T20I rankings for bowlers. The wrist-spinner jumped three spots to 23rd after returning with six scalps during the South Africa series.

Josh Hazlewood holds his position as the top-ranked T20I bowler, with Afghanistan spinner Rashid Khan (joint third) and Sri Lanka tweaker Wanindu Hasaranga (sixth) both moving up a place inside the top 10.

Ravindra Jadeja maintains his top position among the Test all-rounders with 385 rating points. He is part of the India squad that will take on England in the rescheduled fifth Test at Edgbaston from July 1.

Former India skipper Virat Kohli (742) retained his 10th position in the Test batting rankings, while ace spinner Ravichandran Ashwin (850) and pacer Jasprit Bumrah (830) occupy the second and third positions in the bowling chart respectively.

Joe Root leads the Test batting rankings after his twin tons in the ongoing series against New Zealand, whereas Australian captain Pat Cummins holds the top position in the Test bowlers' list with 901 rating points.
