He may have retired from international cricket 19 years ago, but the legendary Pakistan pacer Wasim Akram still seems to have the magic in his wrists.

During a charity match organised in remembrance of the late Shane Warne, Akram recently turned back the clock and produced a peach of a delivery that got rid of former England skipper Michael Atherton.

It was a toe-crashing yorker that shattered the middle and leg stump. After the dismissal, Wasim was off to his trademark celebration.

Following the game, the former Pakistan captain took to Twitter and aimed a sly dig at Atherton, who was also his former teammate at Lancashire.

“Sorry @Athersmike we might get older, but some things will stay the same!” Akram tweeted.

Widely regarded as one of the greatest fast bowlers of all time, Wasim Akram finished his career with 414 Test scalps at an average of 23.62 in 104 matches. He also claimed 502 ODI wickets, second-most in history, at an average of 23.52 in 356 matches.

The former left-arm quick also played a key role in Pakistan’s 1992 World Cup triumph. In fact, he was the Player of the Match in that World Cup final against England.
