Well now, Shadab opened up about the words of his captain, Babar Azam, which inspired him to perform even better in the third ODI against the West Indies.
Shadab Khan said at the post-match presentation: “I got a lot of motivation after Babar called me a ‘buddha’ [old man]. After getting injured, it’s difficult to field properly, so that’s why he called me a buddha.”
The all-rounder said that he has been working really hard on his fitness and he was happy that his hard work paid off in the third ODI against the West Indies.
Shadab signed off by saying, “I have been working hard at the National High-Performance Center to bowl more overs because it was initially difficult to bowl after getting injured. Hopefully, I will keep working hard and try to improve.”
