Pakistan captain Babar Azam insisted that there is always room for improvement after the Men in Green whitewashed the West Indies in a three-match ODI series at home on Sunday (June 13).

Pakistan clinched the ODI series 3-0 after defeating the West Indies by 53 runs on the DLS Method in the third ODI at Multan Cricket Stadium on Sunday.

After winning the ODI series against West Indies, Babar said that the hosts executed their plans brilliantly, but Pakistan needs to fare better with the new ball and improve their fielding.

Babar Azam said during the post-match presentation: “Whatever we planned as a team, we executed. We are giving our 100% in all three facets of the game. As a team, the way we played the second match – Mohammad Nawaz's bowling performance was vital, that's the best performance. We tested out our bench strength and tried different combinations.”

He added, “There's always room for improvement. We need to fare better with the new ball and also the fielding could be better. Hope we learn from our mistakes. I try to play positive cricket. We had different conditions in all three games, partnerships are the key. Thank you Multan crowd for supporting us.”

Notably, Imam-ul-Haq was the highest run-scorer in the ODI series with 199 runs, while Mohammad Nawaz and Shadab Khan were the joint highest wicket-takers with 7 wickets against the West Indies.
