The second ODI between Pakistan and West Indies saw the home side thumping the visitors by a big margin of 120 runs in Multan and take an unassailable 2-0 lead in the three-match ODI series.
Opting to bat, opener Imam-up-Haq and Babar Azam yet again stood tall for their side and shared a 120-run stand. While the southpaw scored 72 runs, the skipper registered 77 runs. Crucial contributions from Shadab Khan (22), Khushdil Shah (22) Mohammad Wasim Jr (17*) and Shaheen Afridi (15*) helped Pakistan post a total of 275 runs on the board.
Defending the target, Pakistan kept taking wickets at regular intervals and on account of a four-wicket haul by Mohammad Nawaz (4/19) bundled out West Indies for just 155 runs to seal the series with one match to go.
However, while defending the target, an incident happened that cost Pakistan five penalty runs. Skipper Babar used one wicket-keeping glove of Mohammad Rizwan to collect a throw behind the stumps. The umpires termed it as illegal fielding, and consequently, five runs were added to the West Indies total.
According to Law 28.1 of the game, “No fielder other than the wicket-keeper shall be permitted to wear gloves or external leg guards. In addition, protection for the hand or fingers may be worn only with the consent of the umpires.”

With a lead of 2-0 already in the series, Pakistan would be eyeing a whitewash when they will take on West Indies in the third ODI on Sunday (12th June).
