Tamil Nadu's star batter Baba Indrajith, opened up about the important advice given by the veteran Indian off-spinner and his state teammate, R Ashwin, which keeps him encouraged to do well and play for India someday.

Indrajith has been a consistent run-scorer for Tamil Nadu in domestic cricket and even though he was in excellent form in the Ranji Trophy 2021-22, where he smashed back-to-back centuries against Delhi (117 off 149) and Chhattisgarh (127 off 141), he wasn’t considered for Test selection.

He further said that the compliments from the likes of Ashwin keep him hopeful and add to his confidence to give his best with the hope of getting a call up to Team India one day.

Indrajith signed off by saying, “Look, when you get a compliment from Ashwin, who’s a legend of the game and one of the best all-rounders to have ever played, it feels good. I sometimes feel like, ‘OK, he sees something in me,’ so that gives me the confidence. He’s been doing this for a very long time.”
