Joe Root on Sunday (5th June) made many stand up and applaud him for his heroics in the first Test against New Zealand at Lord’s. 

The former English skipper yet again rose to the occasion and smashed a sensational century to take his side home. Root smashed his 26th Test ton, scoring unbeaten 115 runs to make sure that his side starts the home summer season on a high note. 

During the course of his innings, Joe Root became only the second Englishman after Sir Alastair Cook and overall 14th cricketer in the history of Test cricket to reach the 10,000-run mark. His century rescued England from 69/4 as they chased down 277 to take a 1-0 lead in the three-match series.

While his masterful batting earned him rich praises, the video of him standing at the non-striker's end has taken the internet by storm. In the clip, that went viral on social media, Root‘s bat can be seen holding itself
