Pakistani batter Mohammad Rizwan on Thursday (2nd June) talked about the conversations he had with Cheteshwar Pujara during their county stint with Sussex recently.
Both Rizwan and Pujara spent quality time together in England during their stint with county team Sussex. The pictures of the duo batting together took the internet by storm and the cricketers also talked about their time with each other.
Ever since Rizwan met Pujara, he has been quite vocal about the learnings he learned from the latter. In interviews, he rated Indian batter very highly. The Pakistani batter is now all set for the national duty as his side is slated to lock horns with West Indies in three-match ODI series, which will begin on 8th June.

Speaking to reporters ahead of the bilateral series against West Indies, Mohammad Rizwan also talked about the desire of Indian and Pakistani players to play against each other more often.
The Asian heavyweights clash with each other only in ICC events and Asia Cup as bilateral series between them does not occur due to political tensions between the nations. The last time two nations clashed in bilateral series was in 2012 when Pakistan toured India for two T20Is and three ODIs.
“The cricketers from Pakistan and India want to play against each other, but the state-level affairs are not in the control of players,” Rizwan said.
Rizwan recalled his conversations with Pujara during their county stint. He said that he learned a lot from Indian batter and he admires his concentration and focus.
Correlating Indian Test specialist with Younis Khan and Fawad Alam, Rizwan said that he rate these three players very high in terms of their focus on the game.
“I had discussions with Pujara regarding cricket and learned a lot of things from him. We are no different as players, we are one cricketing family. Pujara is a very nice guy. I really admire his concentration and focus. I believe Younis Khan, Fawad Alam and Pujara are three players I rate very highly in this regard," he said.
Rizwan will be next seen in action against West Indies while Pujara on the other hand is part of India’s squad that will play the Test match against England next July.
