Pakistan skipper Babar Azam has been reminded by the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) about their policies after the right-hander brought his young brother to the practice session at the High-Performance Centre (HPC) in Lahore.

Babar came under scrutiny after a video of his brother Safeer Azam in the nets with Pakistan pacer Shahnawaz Dahani bowling to him went viral on the internet.

As per the PCB policies, only First-Class players and junior cricketers can use the facilities at the HPC, Lahore with the consent of the authority.

A source reliable to PCB said that Azam was ‘politely’ reminded about the policies of the board.

“Babar came to the centre three-four days back with his brother and this was before the conditioning camp had begun. And his brother later held nets which was brought to the notice of the board.

“He is our national team captain and the matter was handled in a manner where he was politely reminded about the situation and he agreed,” the source said, as quoted by PTI.

The Pakistan skipper has begun his preparations for his side’s next assignment. They will take on West Indies in the three-match home ODI series, starting 8th June. On the other hand, PCB has invited 60 players for the conditional camps in two groups to prepare themselves for the upcoming domestic season.
