The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has banned journalist Boria Majumdar for two years after its committee found him guilty of intimidating Wriddhiman Saha.

In February, Saha had shared a screenshot of the chat with a ‘journalist’, showing how Majumdar had intimidated him saying, “I don’t take insults kindly. And I will remember this.” Though at that time, Saha had not named the journalist in question, Boria Majumdar himself took to social media and refuted Saha’s allegations.

This led to BCCI forming a committee comprising of vice-president Rajeev Shukla, treasurer Arun Dhumal and councilor Prabhtej Singh Bhatia, who agreed with the charges brought by Saha against Majumdar and recommended to the BCCI Apex Committee a two-year ban for Boria Majumdar.

Thanks to this ban, now, Boria Majumdar will be -

1. Banned from getting accreditation as a member of the press in any match (domestic or international) in India.

2. Banned from getting any interviews with registered players in India.

3. Banned from access to any of BCCI or member association-owned cricket facilities.
