Veteran India batter Cheteshwar Pujara continued his stellar show in the English County Championship, slamming another double century for Sussex on Saturday (April 30).
Pujara, who was unbeaten on 128 at stumps on Day 2, went on to score 203 off 334 balls against Durham on Day 3 before being dismissed by Liam Trevaskis. His marathon innings was studded with 24 boundaries and another highlight of his knock was a 154-run partnership for the sixth wicket with Pakistan wicketkeeper-batter Mohammad Rizwan (79).
Thanks to Pujara’s double century, Sussex piled up a massive 538/10 in their first innings, taking a huge lead of 315 runs.
Pujara, who was dropped from the Indian Test squad earlier this year, is making the most of his county stint. He has slammed three hundreds, including two double tons in his five innings for Sussex so far.
On his debut earlier this month, Pujara had scored 6 and 201* to help his side draw the match against Derbyshire.
In Sussex's 34-run loss to Worcestershire, he scored 109 in the first innings, followed by 12 in the second dig.
