Former India pacer Irfan Pathan has given a sharp reply to his one-time India teammate Amit Mishra after the leg-spinner had responded to Pathan’s cryptic tweet on the recent anti-encroachment drive in Delhi's Jahangirpuri.
The areas saw massive stone-pelting and other activities during a Hanuman Jayanti procession and in response, the officials razed various properties in the region which were deemed illegal. This led to massive debates among India's political fraternity.
Following the events, Pathan tweeted, "My country, my beautiful country, has the potential to be the greatest country on earth.BUT………". This viral tweet was dissected by many users and people tried to opine on what the former cricketer meant.
On the other hand, Amit Mishra, who has suddenly showed some exciting activity on the social media site, wrote, "My country, my beautiful country, has the potential to be the greatest country on earth…..only if some people realise that our constitution is the first book to be followed."
Following Mishra's response, which was widely shared on social media, Pathan did not hold back and gave a sharp reaction on Twitter. He posted a photo of the preamble of Indian constitution and posted the following caption.
"Always followed this and I urge each citizen of our beautiful country to follow this. Please read and re-read...," wrote Pathan.
