Veteran India batter Cheteshwar Pujara has been an excellent signing for English county club Sussex, as he scored 201* on his debut for them in the second innings of the match against Derbyshire. And now has scored a brilliant ton in the first innings of Sussex’s ongoing English county championship match against Worcestershire.
Worcestershire won the toss and batted first at their home county ground and thanks to 169 from captain Brett D’Oliveira and half centuries form Ed Pollock and Ed Barnard put on 491 runs on the board.
In reply, Sussex lost Ali Orr for a first-ball duck, but Cheteshwar Pujara and Tom Clark fought to add 131 runs for the third wicket. While Clark fell for 44 runs, Pujara continued his good form in county cricket and made 109 with 16 fours in 206 balls.
