India captain Rohit Sharma was part of the 2007 T20 World Cup win, but unfortunately missed out on the Men in Blue’s biggest achievement in the last 2 decades, when they lifted the ICC World Cup in 2011 at home.

Speaking to India batter Jemimah Rodrigues, Rohit has revealed that he had no one to talk to in SA after missing out on the WC squad. They were discussing on missing out on such a big event, as Jemimah herself was not picked for the ICC Women's World Cup 2022 recently.
“It is very hard. Honestly, it's not easy because World Cup is something that you always dream of playing and being part of the World Cup. And plus, contributing for the team's success. I still remember I was in South Africa at that point and we were playing the series when we got the news. I had no one to talk to about this. At that point, I was just in my room sitting and thinking about what went wrong and what I could have done better and all of that,” Rohit said.
However, fortunes changed in 2013, when Rohit was asked to open the innings with Shikhar Dhawan after Sachin Tendulkar retired from the game and since then, the ‘Hitman’ has never looked back.
Rohit is nearing 10,000 runs in ODIs and has most runs in T20I cricket for India. He is the only batter to hit three double-centuries in ODIs, along with the highest individual score of 264. Rohit also holds the record for joint fastest T20I century in 35 balls.
