Rahul Dravid will do a remarkable job as Indian team coach, says Sourav Ganguly

Dravid took over as head coach from Ravi Shastri.

Rahul Dravid | BCCIBCCI president Sourav Ganguly has shown immense faith in his former India teammate Rahul Dravid and said that he will do a remarkable job as the Indian team head coach. Ganguly feels Dravid's "intense, meticulous and professional" attitude are just the ingredients a coach needs to be successful in the high-pressure India job.

Dravid took over as Indian team coach from Ravi Shastri, whose tenure ended after the T20 World Cup 2021 and has guided the team wonderfully well. He has gone on to work with both Virat Kohli as captain in Tests and then his successor in Rohit Sharma.

"He (Dravid) is as intense, as meticulous, and as professional as he was during his playing days. The only difference is that now he does not have to bat at No. 3 for India which I feel was harder since he had to face the best bowlers of the world which he also did exceptionally well for a long period of time. As a coach also he (Dravid) will do a remarkable job as he honest and he has the talent,” Ganguly said on the sidelines of a promotional event here on Saturday.

Sourav Ganguly played a huge role in bringing in Rahul Dravid as the head coach from NCA. But he refused to compare him with former head coach Ravi Shastri.

"He will make mistakes as everybody does but as long as you try doing the right things you will achieve success more than others," Ganguly said.

"They are different people with different personalities. One is at you all the time which is his strength while the other will quietly do his job in spite of being one of the greatest of all time. No two people will be successful the same way,” the BCCI president added.
