The Indian cricket team is likely to travel to the United States of America (USA) to play two T20 Internationals against the West Indies later this year. The world’s No.1 T20I team will travel to the Caribbean islands to play three One-Day Internationals (ODIs) and five T20Is later this year.

According to a report in Cricbuzz, the final two T20I matches of the T20I series between the West Indies and India will take place in the USA. It is being said that Lauderhill and Florida will be the two venues to host the two T20I matches on August 6 and 7 between Team India and the West Indies.

Notably, India has played twice before in Florida in the years 2016 and 2019. The T20I series is expected to be played between the third week of July and early August. After the completion of the ongoing IPL 2022, India will face South Africa in a home series before traveling to England for three T20Is, as many ODIs, and the rescheduled fifth Test at The Oval.

Meanwhile, the Indian team is expected to travel to the West Indies directly from England. However, the schedule for the Caribbean tour has not yet been announced, but Cricbuzz reported that the white-ball series will start with the three ODIs followed by the five T20Is.

After the end of the India series, the West Indies players will join their respective franchises in the Caribbean Premier League (CPL) 2022, which will kick off on August 29.

According to a BCCI official who is aware of the development, “Playing the final two T20Is in the United States makes logistical sense for the Indian team.” Cricket West Indies (CWI) neither confirmed nor denied the American schedule. A top CWI official said: “The Indian schedule will be announced soonest.”
