Sreesanth, the World Cup 2011 and T20 World Cup 2007 winner, on March 9, announced retirement from India domestic cricket. The pacer had recently made his return to Ranji Trophy cricket but got injured after playing against Meghalaya.

Sreesanth had made his return to India domestic cricket last year after his life ban for spot-fixing was commuted to a seven-year sentence, which ended in 2020. Sreesanth represented India in 27 Tests, 53 ODIs, and 10 T20Is, claiming a total of 169 wickets.

Taking to Twitter, the 39-year-old revealed his decision, bringing the curtains down on his career in India as a cricketer (first-class and all formats). He is open to playing in foreign leagues and coaching roles in the future.
