The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) on Friday (February 25) formed a three-member committee to look into the matter of veteran Indian wicket-keeper Wriddhiman Saha receiving threats and intimidation from a senior journalist.
The BCCI stated that a "centrally contracted cricketer was allegedly threatened by a senior journalist for not responding to his messages asking for an interview."
The committee will probe the alleged threats and intimidation by a senior journalist to Saha on messaging app WhatsApp for not agreeing to give an interview.
However, the wicketkeeper has refused to reveal the name of the journalist who threatened him after he was dropped from the Team India squad for the Sri Lanka Test series.

BCCI said in a statement: “The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has today constituted a three-member committee to look into the matter of Wriddhiman Saha receiving threats and intimidation from a senior journalist.”
The release added, “The three-member committee comprises of BCCI Vice-President Mr. Rajiv Shukla, BCCI Treasurer Mr. Arun Singh Dhumal and BCCI Apex Council Member Mr. Prabhtej Singh Bhatia. The committee will start the proceedings as early as next week.”
The WhatsApp messages sent by the journalist to Saha read: “You did not call. Never again will I interview you. I don't take insults kindly. And I will remember this.”
The BCCI said that considering the gravity of the matter, the board has approached Saha and decided to constitute a three-member committee to look into the matter.
