Former Pakistan cricketer Salman Butt compared India's wicketkeeper-batter Rishabh Pant and Pakistan's Azam Khan. Both the youngsters are known for their explosive batting.

While Pant has proved his worth at the international level with some terrific knocks in tough situations, Azam, former Pakistan wicketkeeper Moin Khan's son, is seen as a potential big name in the coming days.

Azam is currently playing Pakistan Super League (PSL 2022) for Islamabad United and he has scored 256 runs in 10 innings this season with a strike rate of 141.43. He had smashed 85 runs off 45 deliveries against Peshawar Zalmi, which included 6 fours and 7 sixes.

Butt, speaking on his YouTube channel, highlighted the strength of both the batters and said, “Both are big hitters. Pant has a big range but Azam Khan can hit longer. Azam has amazing strength and power. He just needs to put some muscle on, get into shape. But again, he hits the ball hard and can send the ball to long-distance.

“Both are very talented. Rishabh Pant has hit hundreds in Test matches as well, so he's definitely more experienced and has played more. Azam is yet to make a mark at the international level.”

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has already promoted Pant to the role of the vice-captain of the team in ODIs. He is among the Indian players who are groomed as the future captain of the team.
