Had he apologized I would not have tweeted the second time- Wriddhiman Saha

Wriddhiman Saha has refused to reveal the name of the journalist who threatened him.

Wriddhiman Saha | GettyIndia wicketkeeper Wriddhiman Saha revealed that his second tweet on the ongoing issue with the journalist threatening him shows that the guilty party is yet to render an apology. Saha also said that while he has emailed the entire matter to the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI), he has not named the journalist.

In an exclusive chat with India Today, Saha strained that BCCI asked him the name of the scribe but he has abstained from revealing his identity. Saha also said that he is not interested in revealing the name of the person who threatened him and understands that it could damage his/her reputation and career.

Multiple former Indian cricketers like Virender Sehwag, Harbhajan Singh, Venkatesh Prasad and others have encouraged Saha to reveal the name of the scribe.

"It's your duty to fight injustice," Venkatesh Prasad tries convincing Saha to reveal journalist's name

"The second tweet clearly shows that the guy has not apologized. BCCI supported me and asked me for the name, I have not told them the name so far. I have mailed them the entire story. Giving the person to think about what he has done and if has any regret, if he does change, then I have to think.

Had he apologized I would not have tweeted the second time. Such things happen. My motive is not to draw controversy but tell people that such things happen,” Saha told India Today.

Saha, who was recently dropped from the Indian Test side for the home series against Sri Lanka, had revealed on Twitter that an eminent journalist had threatened him after he refused an interview with him.

The Indian Cricketers' Association (ICA) has condemned the “threatening” message to veteran wicketkeeper-batter Wriddhiman Saha by a senior Indian journalist. The BCCI Treasurer Arun Dhumal has also said that the board will look into the matter and speak with Saha.
