Venkatesh Prasad is among the former India cricketers who are urging wicketkeeper Wriddhiman Saha to reveal the journalist's name who threatened him. Saha had shared a screenshot of messages in which he was threatened by a journalist after not agreeing to an interview.
Saha has been dropped from the India squad for the two-Test home series against Sri Lanka that starts from March 4, and the journalist wanted to interview him on the same. However, the 37-year-old has refused to name the journalist in public and said he doesn't want to ruin someone's career.
But Prasad feels it would be right for Saha to disclose the name of the journalist in public and he also shared a verse from the Bhagvad Gita to convince him.
"There is a verse in the Bhagvad Gita which translates to - "Tolerating injustice is as much a crime as committing injustice. It Is Your Duty To Fight Injustice." It is important for Wriddhiman Saha to name this person. It will definitely set a good example," tweeted Prasad.
Saha has already said that he will not tolerate if a similar incident happens with him in the future. But this time he is letting the person go on grounds of humanity. "My nature isn't such that I will harm anyone to the extent of ending someone’s career. So on grounds of humanity looking at his/her family, I am not exposing the name for the time being. But if any such repetition happens, I will not hold back," he had tweeted.
