Former India cricketers Virender Sehwag and Harbhajan Singh have come out in support of wicketkeeper-batter Wriddhiman Saha after he revealed that he was threatened by a journalist.

Saha was recently dropped from India's Test squad for the upcoming home series against Sri Lanka and the famous journalist wanted to interview him to get his views and some scoop.

In some screenshots of a chat posted by Wridhhiman Saha on Twitter, a journalist wanted to have a chat and interview him over the decision of BCCI selectors to not consider him for Tests in the future.

But when the Bengal cricketer didn't respond or picked the call, the journo became enraged at the alleged disrespect and sent some threatening messages to the keeper.

Saha posted the screenshot of the messages on Twitter and questioned the state of journalism. “After all of my contributions to Indian cricket..this is what I face from a so-called “Respected” journalist! This is where the journalism has gone," he posted.

Sehwag has reacted to the post and he supported Saha while calling the incident 'extremely sad'. "Extremely sad. Such sense of entitlement, neither is he respected nor a journalist, just chamchagiri. With you Wriddhi," the response read.

Not only Sehwag but former India spinner Harbhajan Singh also reacted angrily and urged Saha to name the journalist that threatened him, to save the other honest media persons from scrutiny. He also tagged the BCCI, President Sourav Ganguly, secretary Jay Shah and treasurer Arun Singh Dhumal and said that cricketers must be protected.

Harbhajan tweeted: "Wridhi you just name the person so that the cricket community knows who operates like this. Else even the good ones will be put under suspicion.. What kind of journalism is this ? @BCCI @Wriddhipops @JayShah @SGanguly99 @ThakurArunS players should be protected."

Saha has recently revealed the conversations that happened between him and the Indian team management. "The team management had told me that I would not be considered henceforth. I could not tell this so long as I was part of the India team setup,” he said.
