Journalist Isabelle Westbury and Indian batter VR Vanitha were involved in a heated exchange of tweets over skipper Mithali Raj on Twitter. It all happened after India women's three-wicket loss against New Zealand on Tuesday (February 15).

Westbury posted a tweet on Mithali and called her India women team's 'worst' and 'best' thing. Mithali scored consecutive half-centuries in the first two games — 59 and 66 not out, however, the English journo believes she is "unsuited to India's progression".

"Mithali Raj is both the best and worst thing about Indian cricket now. #NZvIND," the tweet read. Responding to it, Vanitha wrote, "There is only the ‘BEST’ to it . Rather than worrying so much about Indian cricket, it will do you a world of good to worry about England. They were drubbed by the Aussies."

It all heated up with every tweet and Vanitha even made personal comments on Westbury, although later she deleted it. "Sorry, just asking how many international games have you played? Didn't find your stats on Wikipedia. You still haven't got rid of your colonial mindset telling India what to do. Get yourself together Brit!!," she said.

Vanitha wasn't done there and she even slammed an Indian journalist, Sudatta who called her posts on social media 'embarrassing'. The India cricketer said Sudatta has got fame in India basing the Indian cricket body, BCCI.
