India leggie Yuzvendra Chahal has often spoken about his friendship with former Australia cricketer Andrew Symonds. He shares a good camaraderie with the Aussies and many find it bizarre as they both seem to be very different in character.

Chahal and Symonds both were a part of the Mumbai Indians (MI) franchise in IPL 2011 and that’s where they became friends. The India cricketer has even visited Symonds' house when he was on a tour of Australia.

The 31-year-old, on the RCB Podcast, revealed a hilarious incident involving Symonds and James Franklin after they won the Champions League in 2011.

A drunk Symonds had tied Chahal during a party, along with Franklin and they forgot to untie him. "It happened in 2011 when Mumbai Indians won the Champions League. Andrew Symonds drank a lot of "fruit juice" during a party. He tied my hands and James Franklin tied my legs.

"The task for me was to open it. But then, they forgot that they had put tape on my mouth. The next morning, a cleaner came and saw me and got me out of it," he said.

Chahal moved to Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) after the franchise bought him ahead of IPL 2014. No franchise had shown interest in him before RCB made the bid.

"Nobody bid for me when my name was first announced in the auction. But I was relieved when finally RCB showed interest as at least I would get a chance to feature in the tournament," he said.
