Following West Indies' T20I series win against England, all-rounder Jason Holder said that doesn’t think his side is a finished product and good things are in store for them. West Indies thumped England by 17 runs in the series-deciding the fifth T20I to clinch the five-match series 3-2.

One of the main architects behind their series win was Jason Holder. The all-rounder took five wickets, including 4 wickets in 4 balls in the fifth T20I to lead his side to victory. Holder also became the first player from the West Indies to take a hat-trick in the shortest format of the game.

Jason Holder took 15 wickets in the series at an average of 9.30. He was also awarded the Player of Series for his heroics. Notably, no player has ever taken more wickets in a bilateral T20I series than his tally of 15 wickets. 

Jason Holder talked about camaraderie inside the West Indies dressing room. He said this is the closest he has felt and even though they didn’t understand some decisions everyone was buying in with it. 

"For me, this is the closest that I've felt a group (to) be in a very, very long time. Honest to God, the energy I felt from the meetings...most contributions I have ever seen in a West Indies dressing room. Even though you might not understand a certain decision, everybody was still buying in with it," ESPNCricinfo quoted Jason Holder as saying.

Holder said that it was tough luck for players who didn’t get an opportunity but they never showed disappointment, which depicts the strength of the unit. 

"Tough luck to the guys who didn't really get the opportunity but they never showed it: I ain't seen a boy sulk. That says a lot about the camaraderie and the strength of the unit. I don't think it's a finished product and we've got to strive to be consistent," he said. 

Holder said that their focus is now on the India series and his side needs to believe that nothing is impossible and they need to be happy for each other’s success.

He was pleased with consistency in terms of the wicket-taking column and said that is something he prides himself on. He added that way he came through the tougher periods in the series was pleasing for him and there are still some areas he needs to work on. 

"We've got a couple of days before we start, start over, and then we go again in India. Nothing is impossible. We've got to believe that nothing is impossible and continue to be happy for one another's success and continue to build as a team. I was just pleased with the consistency in terms of the wicket-taking column. 

"It's something I pride myself on, particularly in this format. There were tough times in the series, which you would expect, and just the way I came through the tough periods was very, very pleasing. There're still areas to improve on, coming back and finishing off spells well,” he said. 

Jason Holder further said that he was disappointed after the ODI series loss against Ireland as he felt that he let the team down with his performances.

"It's special for me, knowing how badly I felt after the Ireland series. Personally, I felt as though I let the team down with my personal performances. It wasn't for lack of effort, it was just one of those times where it didn't click and it didn't happen. But everything happens in its time and this series was my time," he said. 

West Indies are next slated to play India in three ODIs and three T20Is, starting from 6th February at Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad.
