Former Pakistan cricketer Shoaib Akhtar has pointed out a major difference between fast bowlers from Pakistan and India. He lauded India for producing quality pacers but believes they lack a 'rare energy'.

India have done well in Test cricket over the years and a major credit goes to their solid bowling attack. The likes of Jasprit Bumrah, Mohammad Shami, Ishant Sharma, Mohammad Siraj, and Umesh Yadav have been the star fast bowlers for India lately.

However, Akhtar, who was known for his pace and aggression, said Team India fast bowlers don't have the anger on their face or the attitude to knock out a batter.

“There is a difference between Pakistan and India. The Indians are producing good fast bowlers, but what they are lacking is the rare energy - that anger on your face, that attitude that I am going to just kill you," Akhtar said in a Podcast.

“The idols that we have, the food, the environment, the attitude. At the same time, you have people like me who are full of energy. It gives us pleasure to bowl quick,” he added.

Akhtar further spoke on the diets of Pakistan cricketers and said they eat a lot of meat. “You become what you eat, right? My nation eats lots of animals and we end up being like animals. When it comes to fast bowlers, we just run in like lions," he said.

Pakistan and India will clash in the T20 World Cup 2022, later this year in Australia. Asia Cup is also scheduled to be played this year, and it will be hosted by Sri Lanka.
