Pakistan captain Babar Azam on Monday (January 24) got named the ICC Men's ODI Cricketer of the Year. Babar was in outstanding form last year as he scored with an average of 67.50.

Babar played only 6 ODIs in 2021, but he still managed to score 405 runs with two centuries and a half-century. The 27-year-old scored 103, 31, and 94 against South Africa in the three-match series, which Pakistan won by 2-1.

In another three-match series against England, Babar scored a duck in the first match, 19 in the second, and ended the series with an outstanding knock of 158 runs in 139 deliveries at Edgbaston.

South Africa's batter Lizelle Lee has been named ICC Women's ODI Cricketer of 2021. She finished the year as the highest run-scorer in the 50-over format.

Lizelle was the highest run-scorer in the five-match series against India and she was awarded the Player of the Series. She scored 288 runs, including a hundred and two fifties. 

South African umpire Marais Erasmus was named the Umpire of the Year for the third time after receiving the honor in 2016 and 2017.
