U19 CWC 2022: Raj Bawa, Angkrish Raghuvanshi slam blistering tons as India annihilate Uganda by 326 runs

India piled up 405/5 on the board and then bowled out Uganda for 79 in 19.4 overs.

Asked to bat first, India piled up a mammoth 405/5 in their stipulated 50 overs. Coming into bat at No. 4, Bawa smashed 162 not out off 108 balls while Raghuvanshi slammed 120-ball 144 opening the innings. The duo shared 206 runs for the third wicket and made the mockery of Uganda bowlers.

Bawa’s whirlwind knock was studded with 14 fours and 8 sixes and it is now the highest score by an Indian in the U-19 World Cup. On the other hand, Raghuvanshi’s innings was laced with 22 fours and 4 sixes.

Coming to India’s total, it is the highest in this edition of the tournament. India’s highest score in the U-19 World Cup remains 425/3 set against Scotland in 2004, while Australia hold the world record score of 480/6 against Kenya in 2002.

It was a nightmare outing for the Uganda U-19 team as they got bowled out for a paltry 79 in 19.4 overs while chasing the daunting target. Captain Pascal Murungi was the top scorer with 34.

For India, stand-in skipper Nishant Sindhu was the stand-out bowler, claiming four wickets for 19 runs in his 4.4 overs while Rajvardhan Hangargekar returned with impressive figures of 2 for 8 in his three overs.
