"Wanted to punch Kaif," Shoaib Akhtar jokes after his on-field battle in Legends League Cricket

India Maharajas captain Mohammad Kaif scored unbeaten 42 runs in their successful run chase.

India Maharajas beat Asia Lions in the inaugural match of the Legends League Cricket (LLC) in Muscat on Friday (January 20). Yusuf Pathan's blistering 40-ball 80 knock helped Maharajas chase down 176 runs with six wickets in hand and five balls left.

Maharajas captain Mohammad Kaif also played a handy innings of unbeaten 42 runs in their win. He was involved in a friendly battle with the Asia Lions speedster Shoaib Akhtar during the match.

After the defeat, Akhtar jokingly said that he wanted to punch Kaif for not agreeing to their pre-match discussion. “I wanted to punch Mohammad Kaif,” the former Pakistan fast bowler said.

Akhtar, who picked up one wicket in the match, further revealed that he had told Kaif before the match, not to walk towards him while batting. But the ex-India batter didn't listen to him which made him angry. 

The 46-year-old looked at Kaif and made a gesture while speaking about their on-field battle. Even during the match, Akhtar and Kaif were seen sharing a light-hearted moment which was appreciated by the cricket lovers.
