Cricket fans are deprived of watching India versus Pakistan contest in bilateral series due to the hostile political conditions.
India and Pakistan last played in a bilateral series in 2013, but the arch-rivals might face each other in the near future.
According to a report published in Express Tribune, Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) chairman Ramiz Raja is set to propose an annual quadrangular series involving India, Pakistan, England, and Australia in the next ICC meeting. This move will make sure Pakistan play regular international cricket against India.
As per Code Sports Australia, the quadrangular tournament will be proposed by Ramiz in the T20I format.
“On the other hand, Ramiz told the publication that there is huge anticipation in Pakistan ahead of the Australian tour and that he has been heartened by recent comments from Pakistan-born Aussie batter Usman Khawaja as he privately urges teammates to travel to Pakistan,” the report further said.
Australia are due to tour Pakistan for three Tests, three ODIs and one T20I in early March. It will be Australia’s first visit to the country since 1998.
