Trent Boult, who became the 2nd fastest New Zealand bowler to reach 300 Test wickets, said that cricketing milestones don't matter to him.

After New Zealand batters posted a mammoth first innings total of 521 runs in the second Test against Bangladesh in Christchurch, left-arm pacer Boult led the charge for his side and took a five-wicket haul to bundle out the visitors for just 126 runs in their first innings. 

The left-arm pacer in his 75th Test completed 300 wickets and became only the fourth Black Caps bowler to achieve the feat after Sir Richard Hadlee, Daniel Vettori, and Tim Southee.

Speaking at the Stumps on Day 2, pacer Trent Boult said that milestones doesn’t matter to him. He remarked that he enjoyed bowling on the surface and with Tim Southee bowling from the other end, it gives their side a left-right combination. 

"Milestones don't really matter, there are some big names on this list. There was a good amount of pace and bounce on this wicket, enjoyed bowling on the surface - with Southee in, gives us a left-right combination well," Trent Boult said. 

Trent Boult admitted that they are in a great position. He said that he bowled with great lengths and lines and a big total on the board helped him. 

"Yes, we're in a great position. It's just about bowling with line and length, there is always something on offer from the pitch. It helped that the boys got a good total on the board as well," he said. 

Coming to the match, New Zealand on account of skipper Tom Latham’s 252 runs, Devon Conway's 109 runs, and half-centuries by Will Young and Tom Blundell, posted a total of 521 runs on the board. After bowling out the visitors for just 126 runs, it remains to be seen if the hosts will enforce follow or not.
