Tamil Nadu names squad for Ranji Trophy 2022; Vijay Shankar announced captain

Tamil Nadu placed in Elite Group D and will begin their campaign against J&K on 13th January.

The Tamil Nadu Cricket Association (TNCA) has announced the Tamil Nadu squad for the Ranji Trophy 2022, which will kick start on 13th January. 

Vijay Shankar has been named as the captain of the Tamil Nadu team and Washington Sundar will be the vice-captain in the upcoming Ranji Trophy tournament. 

Tamil Nadu’s batting department comprises of B. Indrajith, B. Aparajith, N. Jagadeesan, B. Sai Sudharsan, Pradosh Ranjan Pau, L. Suryapprakash, M. Kaushik Gandhi, Shahrukh Khan and V. Ganga Sridhar Raju.

The Tamil Nadu selectors have picked the likes of Sandeep Warrier, M. Mohammed, R. Silambarasan, P. Saravana Kumar, A. Aswin Crist, L. Vignesh, R. Sai Kishore, M. Siddharth and R. Kavin in the bowling department. 

The likes of Dinesh Karthik and T Natarajan were the two big names that were not included in the squad. Karthik has made himself unavailable for the tournament, while Natarajan is yet to regain his full fitness.

Tamil Nadu is placed in Elite Group D along with Saurashtra, Railways, J&K, Jharkhand, and Goa. They will play all their matches in Ahmedabad and will begin their campaign against Jammu & Kashmir on 13th January.
